On 12th, November 2024, Diaspora Solution Group, Nigeria conducted a comprehensive evaluation visit to Community Primary School in Umueze Obinofia. The purpose of this visit was to assess the school’s present condition and eligibility for a grant application.

METHODOLOGY:

During the evaluation visit, the team of evaluators conducted interviews with key staffs, including the school head teachers, and students. Additionally, we observed classroom instruction, teaching techniques, reviewed school data and documentation, and assessed the school’s facilities and resources.

Overall, Community Primary School, Umueze Obinofia demonstrated a strong commitment to student success and a dedication to providing a high-quality education. The school has a diverse student population, and there is a strong sense of community and collaboration among staff, students, and parents.

In terms of academic performance, the school has shown improvement in standardized test scores and graduation rates over the past few years. The school offers a variety of extracurricular activities and support services to meet the diverse needs of its students.

However, some areas of concern were identified during the evaluation visit. These include:

– The need for additional resources to support students with special needs

– The maintenance and upgrade of school facilities to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment

– The need for additional academic and non-academic staff

– The implementation of more targeted interventions to support students who are struggling academically

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Based on the findings of the evaluation visit, the evaluator recommends that the Community Primary School consider the following actions to improve its overall performance and increase its eligibility for grant funding:

– Develop a comprehensive plan to address the needs of students with special needs, including the allocation of additional resources and support services

– Prioritize the maintenance and upgrade of school facilities to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for all students

– Engage volunteer teachers and non-academic staffs within the community.

– Implement targeted interventions and support services to help students who are struggling academically, including tutoring programs and academic counseling

CONCLUSION:

In conclusion, the evaluation visits to Community Primary School, Umueze Obinofia highlighted the school’s dedication to student success and the strong sense of community among staff, students, and parents.
